The members and volunteers of GALANG or the Gay and Lesbian Activist Network for Gender Equality Inc. THANK YOU for your overwhelming support during our launch party last Saturday. We thank you for your kind words of encouragement and solidarity, generous donations, and offers of assistance to further our collective aspirations as members of the Filipino lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Thank you to the very talented artists who gave outstanding performances during the night, namely Miguel Naranjilla, Chie Makiling, Ram Tolentino, Flush, Tao Aves & Popoy Diokno, and Velvet, and to Randell Urbano who graciously co-emceed for the event.

GALANG is a non-stock, non-profit corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 29 August 2008. It is currently spearheaded by five lesbian-identified core members with various professional and academic backgrounds. GALANG aspires for an empowered Filipino LGBT community and a society that is free from discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation. It is set to launch its training program in 2009 and is currently in the process of rallying moral and financial support for its awareness and education activities.
